High-Speed Internet Access without Wires

In today’s tangled world of wires a little disconnection can provide freedom and be a breath of fresh air, a wireless network that uses Ethernet protocols provides both. Imagine no wires that coil in a tangled mess or restrict where you can use a computer.
Based on the Ethernet standard used for decades on wired networks, Wi-Fi has been adapted to link computers in a short-range wireless network permitting you to connect to the Internet from anywhere - your home, hotel, conference room, boat or at work without any wires. For many years, we have been confined to fast Internet access confined within walls and near a hard wired connection. Wi-Fi technology brings access freedom to the Internet without wires to communities as well as metropolitan cities and businesses throughout the country and the world with access speeds up to 108 megabytes (1000K*108) with newest technology (802.11n). You can now reliably connect to the Internet from outside the bounds of your office or home be it for fun or business without cables.
Wi-Fi is currently being installed by manufacturers in numerous products, from cell phones, laptops, desktop computers, home appliances, PDAs, and automobiles, just to mention a few. Wi-Fi enables you to access not only your home or business network, but thousands of public Hot Spots and Hot Zones and has quickly become one of the standard methods used to access the Internet.
Wireless networks utilize multiple radio technologies called IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g and the latest 802.11n to provide secure, reliable, fast wireless connectivity. A Wi-Fi network can be used to connect computers to each other, to the Internet, or to wired networks. Wi-Fi networks operate in the 2.4 and 5 GHz radio bands, with 54 Mbps (802.11g) or 54 Mbps (802.11a) data rates, and some products can operate in dual band mode. The latest technology 802.11n with speeds of 108 Mbps can provide real-world performance similar to the basic 100BaseT wired Ethernet networks presently used in most corporate offices.
